Immigration Law Senior Attorney (New York)
Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation (NMIC) is seeking an experienced immigration attorney. This position is part of NMIC's Immigration team consisting of on Senior attorney and three paralegals who carry their own caseloads. The Immigration Unit currently provides legal representation and advocacy in a comprehensive array of immigration matters, including: VAWA self-petitions, U-visa petitions, Battered Spouse Waivers, Adjustment of Status, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Naturalization, and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS). The Immigration Attorney will also provide representation before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR).

Appellate Court Attorney (Rochester)
Appellate Court Attorneys research and analyze legal issues and questions for the court and perform other related duties. They serve in a confidential capacity and work under supervision in units located in the Appellate Divsions and the Appellate Terms of the Supreme Court.

Attorney -- Mental Hygiene Legal Service (Utica)
This position will primarily provide representation of sex offenders alleged to be suffering from a mental abnormality in civil commitment proceedings, including trials. Duties include but are not limited to: presenting cases before administrative tribunals and courts; researching and analyzing legal questions and issues and preparing confidential reports, memoranda, legal papers and briefs; interviewing litigants, witnesses and other parties to administrative and judicial proceedings; and drafting correspondence related to case inquiries. Extensive travel without reliance on public carriers is necessary for this position.

Senior Internal Counsel -- BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York (Buffalo)
Located at our corporate headquarters in Buffalo, NY our Senior Internal Counsel will provide and arrange legal services for the company, including supporting the Corporation's insurance, HMO, TPA and government program operations, managing the Company's litigation, providing legal research and guidance to the company's management and Director's and interacting with legislative and regulatory authorities ensuring compliance with applicable Federal and State Laws and Regulations.

  • Demonstrated deep commercial experience leading and closing various transactions (e.g., strategic alliances, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures), negotiating large scale contracts, and devising pragmatic, creative solutions for problems, opportunities, and business strategies
  • A successful track record of providing advice and support to business operation as well as infrastructure functions
  • Experience within the healthcare sector preferred.
