Finding your way through the legal system is difficult. Many people don’t know where to turn when a legal problem arises. For nearly one hundred and twenty five years the Monroe County Bar Association has helped people navigate through the legal process to ensure that all in the community have access to justice.
The Lawyer Referral Service is an important public service of the Monroe County Bar Association and has been connecting people with the right lawyer for over 25 years. We are the leader in the area connecting over 1,100 people a year with over 70 separate, experienced attorneys that can handle their case.
How it works:
When you call (or make a request through our website), the LRS staff will confidentially evaluate your situation to see if a referral is appropriate. The LRS staff are NOT attorneys and cannot provide you with any legal advice. If you need an attorney and there is a panel member properly suited for your legal issue, the LRS staff will charge you a $40.00 referral fee (in most situations). In turn, the attorney will consult with you for up to a half hour at no charge. You will be referred to an attorney to contact regarding your case. How to contact us:
Phone (585) 546-2130 anytime and if a staff member does not answer right away, leave a message and they will get back to you, in most cases within the hour. There is a $40.00 referral fee (waived for personal injury, all negligence, workers' compensation and Social Security Disability matters) which includes the first half-hour consultation with the lawyer.
