One call to MCBA's Lawyer Referral Service puts you in touch with the right lawyer, right away.

  • There is a $40.00 referral fee (waived for personal injury, all negligence, workers' compensation and Social Security Disability matters) which includes the first half-hour consultation with the lawyer.
  • Should you choose to hire the lawyer after the initial consultation, fees will be arranged between you and that lawyer.

PROTECT YOURSELF

It is always a good idea to check with a lawyer before you make important decisions whether you are buying a house, setting up a business, settling an estate or contemplating how to resolve a personal injury matter. A brief talk with a lawyer is often all you will need. Ask questions, such as:

How serious is my problem?
How can it be resolved quickly and fairly?
How do I settle the matter for good?

You can get legal advice and answers to your questions in these and other areas of law:

  • Employer/Employee Relations
  • Matrimonial/Family Matters
  • Criminal Charges, DWI, Traffic Violations
  • Trusts, Wills, Estates, Estate Planning
  • Real Estate Purchase, Sale or Dispute
  • Business/Corporation Law
  • Personal Injury/Accidents
  • Medicare/Medicaid, Living Wills
  • Bankruptcy/Consumer
  • Collection
  • Landlord/Tenant
  • Taxation
  • Intellectual Property
  • Immigration
  • Contracts

...and many more!

HOW THE SERVICE WORKS

Call the Lawyer Referral Service, (585) 546-2130, Monday through Friday,

9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. or 2:30-4:00 pm for a referral to a lawyer.

The Lawyer Referral Service maintains a list of private lawyers who have designated their specific areas of practice. They have agreed to provide 30-minute consultations within their areas of practice to answer any questions you may have, and to offer legal advice. The advice can include: reviewing the terms and conditions of a contractual agreement; advising you of your specific obligations under the law; or explaining the process of moving a matter through the court system. Whatever the case may be, LRS can usually find someone who can speak knowledgeably on your matter of concern.

When you call the service, LRS staff will briefly discuss your legal need with you to determine whether we can be of some assistance. Upon determining that a referral to a private lawyer is appropriate, we will refer you to the lawyer whose area(s) of practice most closely fit your legal need. You will be provided with the name and telephone number of the lawyer and instructed to contact the lawyer for a consultation appointment in their office. After meeting with the lawyer, all of your questions may be answered. However, further services may be necessary and you may either choose to hire the LRS lawyer to provide these services or seek additional counsel. In any event, you are under no further obligation of any kind beyond the initial consultation.
