Thomson
West, the preeminent legal information provider to the U.S. legal
market is looking for an Attorney Editor to provide legal interpretation
to support the development of print and electronic case law publications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Applies legal analysis, writing
and research to support the manuscripts provided by primary sources
- Creation of headnotes, historical
notes, and headings
- Manuscript evaluation
- Index and highlight creation
- Manages author and contractor relationships
- Manages products in all media
- Works collaboratively with others
to develop and create new product offerings
- Ensures accuracy of legal content
before publication
- Actively participates in team and
project activities
- LL.B. or JD Degree from an American
Bar Association approved law school is required.
- Demonstrated strong legal research,
writing, and analytical skills along with solid editorial judgment
and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to interpret, analyze, organize,
and express detailed legal material.
- Must be skilled in the use of personal
computers and have familiarity with word processing and on-line
applications.
- Requires a detail-oriented individual
with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple functions.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully
work in a team environment
- Normal office hours and environment;
constant reading and exposure to personal computers, extra hours
will be required to meet deadlines.
